Pros: Best Fairway Wood ever Taylormade produced
Cons: Nothing
Rating: 4.8/5
The TaylorMade Burner SuperFast fairway wood is the lightest fairway wood that TaylorMade have yet produced and continues the Burner franchise tradition of high performance for all players. This wood has got tremendous performance as this is equipped with the latest technology and low weight allowing the player to swing through the ball better even off tough lies.
Despite weighing in at only 301 grams the Burner SuperFast also offers the largest clubhead size that TaylorMade have ever incorporated into a steel fairway wood design with the 3 wood measuring 200cc.The traditional looking wood has better face technology and has better launch angle for the ball to take off into the air with greater velocity. The combination of lightness and size means the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast fairway wood offers high ball speed, wonderful levels of forgiveness and excellent length from a variety of lies.
The TaylorMade Burner Superfast fairway wood follows the same design keys as the Superfast driver with a deeper head front to back and a longer shaft for more distance. The club is slightly longer compared to the rest of the 3 woods as this gives you a chance to swing the club with greater swing speeds.
The face was pretty forgiving and the feel and sound at impact was excellent. The Superfast range is about distance over accuracy and to that end TaylorMade have used a longer lighter shaft in the fairways for more clubhead speed. Despite the weight being low and deep the trajectory of this club was very good and the TaylorMade Burner Superfast is a good fairway for mid to high handicappers looking for an extra few yards.
Features
- Lighter weight and long club-length for increased speed and distance.
- Largest steel fairway wood head that has ever offered as a 200cc 3-wood.
- Low Center of Gravity promotes a higher flight for increased carry.
- New Matrix OZIK XCON shaft promotes higher launch and greater ball speed for more distance.
Pros: Highly Forgiving Wedge
Cons: Nothing
Rating: 4.7/5
The shape and forgiveness of the Ping iWedges provides the confidence and control to play delicate approach shots or blast shots from bunkers. The Ping iWedge unique ‘Sand Cup’ sole really makes this a very easy club to hit. The versatility and performance of the original Ping Eye 2 sand wedge inspired the design of the Ping iWedge. Based on the cult classic Eye 2 wedge that many Tour players still use, the updated iWedge has the same sole design and centre of gravity as the original.
Borrowing the proven engineering advancements of the tour favorite including the concave sole the iWedge’s Sand Cup design positions the pivot point further from the lead edge and features an aggressively tapered heel and toe.
Even though the spec says the bounces are quite high, the design of the sole means that the leading edge lies flat to the ground with just a minor forward movement of the hands. This combination gets the wedge under the ball quickly in the sand or from turf and prevents digging. The deep, multi-level cavity maximizes forgiveness and positions the center of gravity (CG) toward the center of the face and low for a solid feel. This wedge gives a soft feel during impact and gives the player soft landing on the greens providing certain amount of spin.
The U-shaped groove profile imparts optimal spin for control from all conditions. The clubface can be opened or closed with confidence to play any shot. The feel from the face is great, although maybe not as crisp as a soft forged blade wedge. However this is more than balanced out by the performance of the club.
Pros: Better distances and accuracy
Rating: 4.8/5
The 460cc club-head is made from Ti 8-1-1, a lighter, lower-density alloy. This metal is light in weight having high strengths and the combination of high strength-to-weight ratio allows for additional weight to be strategically placed for increasing the MOI on both the vertical and horizontal axes. This gives a perfect balance to the driver head as it reduces the drag on the club allowing the player to strike the golf ball at a better rate. Weight savings from varying wall thicknesses in the crown and body are positioned to optimize performance and durability. This increases the performance of the club giving better results all the time.
This is designed aerodynamically with a key power generator in the club-head which reduces the drag on the club to increase the club head speed through the impact. This gives the additional power through the ball for longer distances and better accuracy. External weight optimizes the center of gravity to maximize distances. This allows generating high launch on the ball with a low spin giving an advantage of roll on the short grass for longer distances.
The G20’s large, variable-thickness face generates faster ball speeds and increases MOI for maximum forgiveness. This club is the most forgiving club in PING which has a deep face enabling the player to hit of the surface easily and the club-head is elongated as the most of the new club-heads are traditional in the recent development.
Pros: Built for fade trajectories
Rating: 4.7/5
The new MP-650 is a Tour Level driver designed for lower handicappers and with the pear head shaped, specifications and latest technologies designed specifically to perform for the better players. This club is designed with great engineering and with a slightly open, deeper face with 450cc volume head design delivers a mid-launch, low spin, and a penetrating yet workable trajectory.
This club is basically designed for better players who are looking for consistent ball flight with lower spin on the ball for better roll on the short grass. This club is got a mid-launch which gives penetrating ball flight through tough winds and harsh weather conditions. This club is designed with a deeper club face giving option to the player to hit of the ground. The club head of the driver is slightly open promoting fade, this would be a good option for the players who are suffering with draw off the tee with the drivers.
MP 650 driver is engineered with two strategically placed internal weights in a player preferred pear shaped head produce a neutral to slight fade trajectory. This fade trajectory helps to correct the draw, and gives the player better results to find the short grass more consistently. These technologies and design elements combined with a 5-layer multi-thickness CORTECH face will truly optimize distance and control off the tee.
Pros: Built aerodynamically for distance
Cons: Nothing
Rating: 4.8/5
The 460cc head is built from Ti 8-1-1; this is very light which allows you to swing the club with greater speeds and with more control. The low-density alloy helps optimize weight distribution for increasing the forgiveness. This feature enables the player to have more sweet spot on the club head which gives distance even on a bad strike. Dense tungsten sole weights elevate MOI across the clubface and position the CG for low-spin, penetrating trajectories and long, accurate drives. This club has its center of gravity placed perfectly which gives less spin on the ball and have a strong ball fight which gives penetrating ball flight even through harsh winds.
